Gold Travertine is obtained from the quarries in both Turkey and Iran travertine quarries which gets its name from the similarity with the gold color. Because Gold Travertine blocks are quarried from specific regions as they are obtained from fewer quarries; they are mostly processed in the factories of Turkey. Both the Iranian Gold Travertine and the Turkish Gold Travertine are similar in color and texture whereas due to the intense interest in the Iran Gold Travertine, blocks are sometimes exported from Iran and processed in factories of Turkey. Due to the presence of water veins on the Gold Travertine blocks, customers are equally demanding both vein-cut and cross-cut products. Cross-cut Gold Travertine products are usually sold in pattern sets in the United States and European markets with aging and tumbling surface treatment are applied. Vein-cut production method of Gold Travertine in which water veins can be seen is generally preferred for cut-to-size materials by applying polished surface and honed surface treatments. Because of its decorative structure, Gold Travertine is actively used in the production of important natural stone export items of Turkey such as split face, mosaic, fireplace, garden ornament, washbasin, railing, column, jamb and applique production.

The Iranian Gold Travertine blocks, which have clearer water veins than the Turkish Gold Travertine, are imported from Iran and proccesed in the factories of Turkey because Turkey's natural stone processing machines produce products with higher quality. The natural stone quality of production in Turkey has increased greatly thanks to investments in high-tech machinery made in both the quarries and the factories in the Turkish natural stone sector in recent years. Increase in exports parallel to quality increase in Gold Travertine products also increase the price / quality ratio of the travertine products processed in Turkey when compared to other countries ratios. Compared to the world travertine market prices, the prices of Gold Travertine products processed and exported in Turkey are much more advantageous than competing countries. Gold travertine blocks, both obtained from Turkish quarries or imported from Iran, are presented to the natural stone market with raw, polished, honed, aged, tumbled or brushed surface treatments according to customer demand. Turkish Gold Travertine is presented to the world natural stone market with different names as; Yellow Travertine, Sivas Gold Travertine, Giallo Travertine and Golden Travertine.
